Susan asks…
What is the best way to gain muscle without steroids or working out?
I want to bulk up and i want to gain lots of muscle. i’m 16. 5’10 and weigh 145. I don’t want to use steroids and i don’t have time to work out. what should I do? or should i just take the time and work out

Workout answers:
The process of building muscle requires that the muscle be worked – and worked hard. It actually requires that the muscle tissue break down a little so that it can regrow larger and denser. You do that by working out – and working out strenuously. That is why there has to be a rest period between workouts – to give the tissue time to heal. The steroids aren’t going to help unless you are working out. What they do is cause the muscle tissue to heal faster – so that you can get started breaking it down again sooner.

James asks…
what is the fastest way to gain muscle without working out too often?

Workout answers:
The INTENSITY of a workout is more important than the length of the workout. However consistentcy is key. If you’d like a shorter workout ( 20-45 min. ) I reccomend the Body For Life program ( www.eas.com ) however you will still need to workout 3-6 times a week to acheive the best results.

Carol asks…
What is the best way to gain muscle? Without any pills or shots.?
I’ve been working out but I want the best results without any artificial stuff. I want to work out the old fashioned way. Nothing behind the counter, nothing illegal, I just want to get stronger and thinner quicker.

Workout answers:
Your first mistake is right there, what a lot of people do is they lose a lot of weight, and then workout and bulk up, but that is not good.
Sure you lose a few pounds, get skinny, but you lose muscle as well, not fat, but solid good muscle.
Cardio kills your workout, I know people say that you need one cardio day, but no, you lose muscle and that is not the goal if you want to get big and strong.
The best way to gain muscle is simple in 3 easy steps:
1. Eat alot of protein 1g of protein per pound of body fat, eg: 102 pounder would need 102 G of protein, hugest they can go is 120-130 G of protein
2. Workout, high intesity, high weights low reps, perfect form.
3. Repeat, repeat, repeat. The hardest part of gaining muscle is the diet, not the exercise. Remember that. If you do everything correctly you can gain 10 pounds of MUSCLE a year, which is awesome.

Lisa asks…
Can I build muscle by working out without using weights?
I really don’t like going to the gym, so I’m trying to find ways to gain some muscle mass without lifting weights. Looking for different workout routines that do not involve the gym that can still result in some muscle mass (which my skinny a** really needs).

Workout answers:
Yes.
Pushups-Chest
Dips-Triceps
underhand chinups-Biceps
Abs-Twisting crunches/situps
body weight lunges-butt quads
calf raises-calves
these are all bodyweight excersize so you can do these everyday in a
self made circuit training if you want to.

Thomas asks…
What would be some good ways to stay in shape if I were to stop working out (which was to gain weight)?
Now here is a scenario for you and please answer it for me:
I am currently working out in hopes of gaining a LOT more weight mainly in terms of muscle. Now eventually I am going to say to myself, “Ya know?? I look pretty good the way I am when it comes to my body and I feel that maybe I don’t need to gain any more muscle from working out, maybe I can just move on with my life but try to find a way to stay in good shape (in terms of body) that I am currrently in right now.” That is most likely what I am going to say in the future some time.
But here is the thing, if I did say that, I can’t just STOP working out altogether because I will eventually lose that muscle and weight as a result if I were to stop, but at the same time, I am not really trying to gain any more muscle weight, so how could stay in good shape but at the same time not gain any more muscle because I don’t about you but i don’t wanna look like JACKED like an Arnold or Sly wanna be ya know? Just at least look average at best. Obviously i am going to gain weight over the years from eating and stuff like that, so I don’t wanna gain too much weight from working out because I still will be gaining from eating foods over time. What if, when I decide not to gain any more muscle, I just limited the amount of times I worked out so I won’t really gain any weight from that, or better yet, would running/jogging and stuff like that keep me in good shape? Now I wouldn’t wanna lose weight, so keep that in mind. It may sound a little weird that I don’t wanna looked COMPLETELY jacked with alot of muscle and that I still wanna gain a little bit of weight over time from eating foods (not ALOT of food so I’ll become obese, but you get idea right), but I have my reasons. So, how would be able to stay in good shape without gaining any more muscle, without losing weight, and at the same time let me gain some more weight over time from mostly eating foods and stuff like that? I hope it is not too hard for you to understand and I hope there is a solution to my question.

Workout answers:
Cardio that works more of your body is a good option. Try swimming or use a rowing machine. Most gyms have a rowing machine, ask a trainer how to use one so you don’t throw out your back.
