How to gain muscle mass quickly? I’m having a little trouble.?

I’m about 5’11 , 175 lbs and 19 years old. My problem is i want to gain muscle mass quickly but i don’t know what’s the problem. I have been working out since December but i took a month off so i don’t know if that affected me or not. I even took Nutritional Shakes such as Nutrament and Muscle milk. I don’t go to the gym anymore. I just workout at my house now with 20 lb dumbells. Here is what i do nowadays. Sunday-Bicep , Monday-Tricep , Tuesday-Bicep , Wenesday- Tricep , Thursday-Off , Friday-Chest , Saturday off. I also Jogg and play basketball about 3-4x a week. Any tips or Recommendations on what i should do please? Or what am i doing wrong?

Workout answers:

Start going to the gym and start off with compund workouts, ie. Squats, deadlifts and bench presses, Each a diet rich in protein and make sure you get sufficent sleep. The workouts you’re doing won’t help you gain much mass, just give you big guns. Unless you’re doing p90x, I don’t think you can complete sufficent excercises with just a set of dumbells.

how to gain muscle mass and tone up quickly…?

i’ve been running track now almost end of season, so haven’t mad much time to lift weights, but i do whenever i get a chance, maybe 3-4 times a week, i have been getting alot stronger and not much bigger, i weigh 140 and i got some pretty good numbers, how to speed up my process?

Workout answers:

The weight gainer is a good idea, the key to building MASS is doing many more repititions at a lower weight. The way to gain strength is to do low reps at a higher weight. To do both, try a routine where you can only do 8-10 reps & 4-5 sets at high weight – five times a wk for two wks. Then do low weight 25 – 30 reps for couple wks with the same exercises.
